Evaluation of Suppliers
The development of the total quality management system in purchasing
is based on the transfer of requirements from our customers to the suppliers.
Systematic evaluation of supplies and suppliers forms part of the requirements set out
in QS 9000 as well as in the European Business Excellence Model.
Evaluation of suppliers provides additional supervision over the all-encompassing quality
of the purchased goods and services, which is in the common interest of the customer
and the supplier. The purpose of the supplier evaluation is to obtain a more detailed
notion of suppliers and to facilitate selection of suppliers for broader collaboration
on the one side and more effective implementation of corrective actions on the other.
The target group of suppliers that are evaluated against these criteria has been
selected on the basis of the value of purchase in the past period and/or with regard
to the strategic importance of the supplier.
Evaluation Criteria
As a rule, the entire evaluation is carried out once a year, and if necessary, Iskra
sends the results complete with requirements for corrective actions to the
suppliers.
The evaluation criteria are:
Quality of purchased material
Shows the supplier's statistical evidence of the quality of delivered products;
evaluates the ability of a supplier to satisfy our needs, expectations and
requirements of the material provided.
Conformity of consignments
Includes the evaluation of packaging, the system of the identification
of material and the required accompanying documents.
Accuracy of deliveries
Evaluates the ability of the supplier to meet the delivery
dates and specified quantities.
Technical assistance
Suppliers should exhibit appropriate support with the level
of the complexity of their products, which includes introduction of a new and existing
products, assembly line support, design and process change information, supply
management support...
Supplier's attitude
Evaluates the supplier's attitude, initiative, responsiveness,
attention to detail and communication performance.
Competitive pricing
Evaluates the process of directing activities to control
costs and provide optimum purchased part volume, which includes cost information sharing,
cost reduction activity, performance during new product programs...
In accordance with the evaluation system and with the goals set, suppliers
are classified into the following classes:
- PARTNERS
- KEY SUPPLIERS
- APPROVED SUPPLIERS
- CONDITIONAL SUPPLIERS
Whenever possible, the suppliers that are classified as partners and key suppliers
of Iskra Avtoelektrika d.d. become involved as suppliers as far upstream as possible
in the design phase of new products. They will be the first to have an
opportunity to widen business cooperation. When purchasing from several sources,
the suppliers' evaluation will significantly affect the share of purchase from an
individual supplier.
